Nannycare is a British brand born from a belief in goat milk, and wish to offer parents another choice alongside the many cow’s milk formulas.
Inspired by the naturally gentle qualities of goat milk itself, we’ve spent over 30 years deepening our understanding of its science and working to change the law — so families could have the choice we felt they deserved.
Where It All Started
The belief that families deserved another choice
Nannycare began at a time when almost every formula was made from cow’s milk, simply because it was the most widely available. We chose to look deeper — to the science — and found that goat milk had naturally distinct qualities. Its softer curds and A2 proteins suggested it could form the basis of a formula with fewer processed ingredients and less need for modification.
That simple belief — that goat milk could offer families a more naturally suited option — became the foundation of everything we do. It set us on the path that would shape the next three decades: a commitment to understanding goat milk, respecting its natural qualities, and changing the law to bring parents a real choice.
The Science That Changed Everything
Our partnership with the New Zealand experts — and everything that followed
That early belief in goat milk’s potential led us to partner with the Dairy Goat Co-operative in New Zealand — the world’s leading specialists in goat milk and goat milk formula. They were pioneers of the very first goat-milk formula in the late 1980s.
Expertly made, our formulas are informed by a deep understanding of goat milk. This led to a landmark clinical trial using the Nannycare formulation, a study that showed whole goat milk could be used safely and effectively as a base for formula.
Its findings became the foundation for a change in EU and UK law, officially recognising goat-milk formula for the very first time. It was a pivotal moment — one that affirmed years of careful work and our belief that families deserved a genuine alternative to cow’s milk formula. We are proud to say that without our efforts no goat milk formula would be on the market in Europe or the UK today.

From farm to formula, the Co-operative works with full transparency, caring for every step from pasture to tin, all in-house. Each farmer is a co-owner, not a supplier, and a valued member of the wider Co-operative family. It means people and purpose come first: caring for their goats, their land, and each other, so they can deliver the very best for you and your little one.
Together with our New Zealand partners, we share a single purpose: to craft follow on formula with as much natural whole goat milk as possible, including its natural milk fat. By retaining the milk’s natural balance, there is no need to add whey. Our approach is shaped and supported by decades of science — with Nannycare formulas informed by more than 60 expert-reviewed studies.
Everything is carried out with integrity from farm to tin, with respect for animals, the land they’re raised on, and care for the world our children will grow up in.

Our partnership with the Dairy Goat Co-operative in New Zealand sits at the heart of Nannycare. As farmer-owners, and pioneers of the world’s first goat-milk formula, the Co-operative brings decades of care, expertise and craftsmanship to every stage, from farming to formulation to the final tin.
New Zealand’s pasture-based farming and extensive use of renewable energy contribute to one of the world’s lowest dairy carbon footprints. Independent studies show that even with transport to the UK, the total footprint can be lower than some local alternatives.
