What’s New in Nannycare? Our Updated Formula

What’s New in Nannycare? Our Updated Formula

At Nannycare, our mission has always been simple: to do what’s best for your baby. That promise continues to guide everything we do.

We wanted to share an update with you, because while our Follow On formula is still made with the same care and gentle whole goat milk base you trust, we’ve recently introduced some thoughtful additions to reflect evolving nutritional guidance. These changes have been made with great care, and the essence of our product remains firmly intact.

But first, here’s a quick reminder of what hasn’t changed, what still lies at the very heart of Nannycare.

A special partnership that makes all the difference

We’re still proudly a British brand, working in close partnership with the Dairy Goat Co-operative in New Zealand, experts in both goat milk, and goat milk formula. What makes this partnership so important is that the Co-operative farms focus exclusively on producing the very best milk for baby formula.

Unlike formulas that use goat milk from farms also supplying the cheese industry (where milk is designed to form firmer curds), our milk has a naturally softer consistency, making it especially suited for delicate little tummies.

So, what’s new in the formula itself?

A Natural Evolution: 2’-FL HMO (Human Milk Oligosaccharide)
We’ve added 2’-FL (a type of HMO) to support gut health. 2’-FL is the most abundant HMO found in breast milk, and its inclusion reflects the latest thinking in baby and toddler child nutrition. This HMO has been widely studied and is already used in many formulas globally. We’ve included it as part of our ongoing commitment to high-quality, science-led nutrition that evolves in line with expert guidance.

Plant-Based DHA
We’ve switched from fish-derived DHA to a plant-based source from algae. It’s equally effective but now fish allergen-free and more sustainable for the planet.

A small change with big benefits for families and the world we share.

What hasn’t changed? The heart of our formula

Although these updates are important, we’ve stayed true to everything you already value about Nannycare. Here’s what still makes Nannycare different:

  • Goat milk formula experts
Our recipes are guided by decades of expertise and supported by multiple clinical trials1 which confirm the suitability of both our Nannycare goat milk and our formulas for babies.
  • 100% protein from whole goat milk
We use whole goat milk as the sole protein source, never mixed with skimmed milk or whey.
  • Double the amount of whole milk
Compared to other UK goat milk formulas, we use over twice the amount of whole milk, which also provides double the amount of natural milk fats.
  • Naturally gentle and carefully crafted
We preserve the natural qualities of goat milk through gentle processing, avoiding unnecessary over-processing.
  • No added whey
We steer clear of highly processed ingredients like added whey, which research shows is unnecessary in goat milk formula1 and may increase allergen exposure2.
  • Backed by science
Every tin is built on scientific expertise and rigorously tested to ensure safety and nutritional quality.

Our Sustainability Promise

Caring for the world your baby is growing up in is just as important to us.

  • Our New Zealand Co-operative partner has earned EcoVadis recognition for its responsible farming, and places them in the top 19% of dairy farms globally.
  • Nannycare formulas carry ClimatePartner certification, so you can be confident in our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

And there’s one more thing we think you’ll be glad to know...

No Bovaer in our goat milk.

Bovaer is a methane-reducing feed additive that’s now widely used in European dairy farming. But the Dairy Goat Co-operative maintains a strict approved feeds list, and Bovaer isn’t on it. That means your baby’s Follow On formula is produced with simplicity, purity, and traceability—just as you’d expect.

Why these updates?

Nutrition is a science that continues to evolve. These updates allow us to stay aligned with the latest guidance while continuing to offer a gentle, trusted Follow On that supports your baby’s healthy development, and your peace of mind.

Still Nannycare. Just even better

With the same expert care. The same values. And now, even more support for your baby, and the planet.

If you have any questions about the changes, we’re always here to help.

With warm wishes,
Nannycare
